I am unable to find any information on Rick Reitz passing, so will recall a particular football game in which Rick was the senior quarterback for the GHS football team. We had not beaten Scottsbluff for several years prior to this game and the odds where that we would lose again. The odds were wrong and we won!
That football game was only the ninth win against 21 losses with Scottsbluff in our history at that time. Scottsbluff was held scoreless until the final quarter. The game was a defensive masterpiece! Final score 14-13. That year Rick led the conference by scoring 44 points and joined Darrell Hessler, Bryan Howlett, Neal Smith, Gary Potts, and Larry Rice on the Coaches All Western Conference team. Honorable mention went to Bob Smith, Gary Trackwell, and Larry McKee. And again, the student manager was Larry Richards. Well done, all!!!
