Rex "Skip" Welton Emery, Jr., 58, died April 29, 2005 at his home in Silverthorne. A memorial service will be held at the Silverthorne Elks Lodge with a reception following the service. Skip moved to Leadville, Colo. in 1963. He graduated from Lake County High School in 1965 and Adams State College in 1970. He moved to Summitt county in 1984, and was employed at Eddie Bears in Silverthorne and was later a bookkeeper at Conoco in Dillon, Colo. He was an active member of the Elks, joining in 1968 and was elected Exalted Ruler in 1988. Survivors include his mother, C. Jean Emery Sullivan of Westminster, Colo.; sister Sharon Emery-Johnstone of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; brothers Bruce Emery of Westminster and Mark Emery of Steamboat Springs; step-brother, Mike Sullivan; step-sisters, Kathi Sullivan Del Norte and Marti Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his father.
